Technip partners with Cascade Drives
Technips new e-MLA in operation
In 2024, Technip Energies established a collaboration agreement with Cascade Drives to enhance the electrification of Marine Loading Arms operations, transitioning from conventional hydraulic systems. The outcome is the development of a fully electric marine loading arm, referred to as the e-MLA. This innovative offering contributes to the reduction of Operational Expenditure (OPEX), mitigates the risk of hydraulic oil leaks, and facilitates the seamless digitalization and automation of loading arm operations.
Cascade Drives has pioneered a compact electric actuator design that constitutes a substantial technological advancement, particularly well-suited for loading arm applications.
“Since forming this partnership, we’ve secured two projects using eMLA and built a promising pipeline of opportunities, reaffirming the value of our collaboration. As a result, we’ve chosen to deepen our relationship by extending the duration of our exclusive partnership, signing a Convertible Loan Agreement that will lead to Technip Energies becoming a shareholder in Cascade Drives AB, and expanding our R&D program to further improve electric actuator integration across various loading arm applications.
